"Good Luck and Godspeed"

Discovery has launched. Let me tell you, watching the shuttle launch in HD is something else. :)

When we lived in Florida, we could hear the shuttle take off, see the teeny tiny shuttle and the exhaust tail in the sky.

People would watch the takeoff on tv and then go outside to see it.

We lived in Winter Park, FL. Were do you live that you can see the exhaust cloud?

We live in Delray Beach. We can't see the teeny tiny shuttle, but we can see the exhaust cloud. It's pretty cool. I love NASA actually. It's one of my favorite places to take family who come to visit.

I totally meant to respond to this and forgot!

Winter Park is about 45 miles from Kennedy Space Center. It was close enough that traffic in the area would stop when there was a shuttle take off because everyone would be looking up in the sky.

My husband was reminding me that we could even see the rocket flames.

We never went to visit NASA while we were in Florida, unfortunately. It's amazing how much in Florida we didn't do while we were there. Now I want to go back and play visitor to catch up. :)
