We live in Delray Beach. We can't see the teeny tiny shuttle, but we can see the exhaust cloud. It's pretty cool. I love NASA actually. It's one of my favorite places to take family who come to visit.
Winter Park is about 45 miles from Kennedy Space Center. It was close enough that traffic in the area would stop when there was a shuttle take off because everyone would be looking up in the sky.
My husband was reminding me that we could even see the rocket flames.
We never went to visit NASA while we were in Florida, unfortunately. It's amazing how much in Florida we didn't do while we were there. Now I want to go back and play visitor to catch up. :)
I think we used to know each other waaaaay back in college on the BBSs. We both know Meileiki - I was on the voyager BBS quite a bit. I THINK I met you at IUFest way back when. Anyway, I saw you in Booju, and saw you have a son named Jamie, just like me. :) Just wanted to pop over and say hi. :)
Heya. I surfed over here from Imbroglio's journal and noticed that you grew up in Chattanooga, where I live now and we have other wtuffy in common. May I add you?
