I've recently been invaded with Russian spambots (seriously, 3 different ones, commenting on multiple entries, just today). Therefore, I've changed my comment settings so that only friends can comment on my journal. I had the same problem - and the comments were on journal entries from five years ago!

Mine too! It was like, virtually every public entry I had in my journal, of which there are not many.
