Without a doubt [livejournal.com profile] ltlbird is my oldest friend. She and I have known each other since a memorable episode during 7th grade registration, and I hate to think of how long ago that was now. :) We don't see each other nearly as often as I'd like, but I would estimate we manage at least once a year or so (maybe a little less often) and we "talk" most often via comments to each other either here or on Facebook.

I have had the same relatively small group of close friends for a while now. I tend to have sort of "infatuation" type friendships with people at times, where we'll be really close for a while and then it sort of fizzles out and we rarely talk at all, but my core friend group doesn't change much, and I'm grateful for every one of them. <3

Sure, of course I "believe in" monogamy. Monogamy works best for some people, poly works best for some people. What doesn't work, ever, is being dishonest with your partner(s). As [livejournal.com profile] that_sakka_girl said in her response, the most important thing is HONESTY. Far be it from me to say that what works best for me is the right thing for others.

My personal path has veered off in a direction I wouldn't have imagined it to take, and right now I'm perfectly happy being monogamous--but the poly side of my life hasn't been completely closed off, it's just buried a little. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of something happening in the future, but it would have to be a very special situation, that's for sure. I've been burned way too many times at this point. :(

I own an embarrassing number of shoes, but as for what I actually *wear*, um. I can't recall the last time I stepped foot out of the house in anything but my Crocs. I have sneakers that I wear when it's really cold (although I'm thinking of getting some of those lined Crocs for next winter, heh) and I used to wear Birkenstocks all the time but not so much anymore--Crocs are cheaper and you don't have to freak out if you get them wet. I'm thinking I'll be wearing them all summer as well, I might spring for a pair of the Crocs sandals too.
